I found this Chess set while cleaning out a storage unit when I was 15, I'm now 54 so I have had it for a while.

I've had an appraisal so I know what it's worth to the right collector. With the right offer I may be willing to sell it.

Pieces are in excellent condition, the board does show its age with some wear, no chips, some scratches, but the felt is worn and torn. Kings are signed on the bottom.

Very unique set. I've searched the internet and haven't found an exact match.

chess set
by: Kevin

I have a very similar chess set that was
left to me when my grandfather passed in
1987. He bought it shortly after WW II, I
am interested in finding out how much it is
worth. The pieces are in excellent condition
the chess board/box not so much. If you can
give me a rough idea of what it could be worth
I'd appreciate it.

Did you sell your set???
by: Nicole

I have a set similar to this one genuine hand carved ivory. They have signatures on the bottom but I'm not sure if they are the same. I was wondering if you sold them and if so how much you sold it for. And how long it took you to find the right buyer. Email me at [email protected]

Have same style
by: S. Smith

My set also dates from the early '50s in Sagamihara, as I recall. Same style; slightly different.

Value

Not like mine then. Mine was valued at a lot more by an appraiser.

More info
by: Charlie

I have the same set and I am trying to get some information. My father purchased in Japan during the Korean War. Could you send me a close up of the label on the board. I would be more than happy to send pictures. Thanks!

Your chess set
by: Helen

I would be interested depending on how much you are asking and how much did it appraise for?
