Vintage Ivory Chess Set from Family Estate 1950's ?

From my family estate. Carved Ivory chess set I was told from the 50's. Family member was stationed in the military over sea's back then.

Wood playing box with 32 pieces, and silk dividers. I had an antique dealer look and tell me this was Ivory and from the Chinese. Also with the new laws it would be hard to sell. He did make an offer, but I have been told it was worth alot more.

No one in the famly plays chess and doesn't want the set. I'm trying to sell it to someone that enjoy's playing chess or a collector. I've contacted dif. ones in my area trying to sell and have been told I couldn't sell ivory and the one's that were interested wanted it for nothing.

Size is from 2" to 4" with part being tea colored. A few are marked on bottom, square with Chinese markings. Not sure of maker. Have tried to look up on computer, but couldn't find one with the same markings. He was a chess player and had used the set. Somehow part of the inside silk got wet and has changed colors. Chess pieces look good. I found one that looks to have something missing on top.

Anyone interested or information would be greatly appreciated.
