Why is Ne2 better than Nf3?

Why is move Ne2 more preferred than Nf3?


The move 1.Ne2 seems to be more flexible as White does not obstruct his f-pawn, controlls f4 with his knight and can play f4 at some point.

However, this is a matter of taste. The move 1.Nf3 is equally good as it places the undeveloped knight on to the correct mathematical square. You can also play 1.f4 right away...
