In 1971 Fischer won three matches over Taimonov(sp?), Larsen and Petrosian. The first two were complete wipe outs, the third was something like Six wins, two losses.
All were very high rated; was there any record of the ratings jump for Fischer in this period?
This led to the 1972 victory over Spassky; what was his rating then?
--------------- Admin Hi Don,
I give you a few links below where you can see that Fisher was not extremely high rated compared to the best chess players nowadays. However many players believe that rating inflation has occured over time and that you cannot compare chess masters of different chess eras.
